40 gal long tank sump for reef tank

    I am new to reef tanks and still kind of an amatuer with saltwater i want to build a sump / refugium from a 40 gal long tank and have no idea where to start and will this be big enough for a 125 gal tank im building it for a 90 but might get a 125 begore its actualy built any help would greatly be appreciated
