I bought a zoo-med 30" T5 HO system with a 10k and a 420 actinic. The fish seem to love it and it's a big difference from the crappy T8 from before. I have a 48" quad fixture from zoo-med as well. I'm not sure if my clam is getting enough light from the 30" fixture. Any advice??

The 36" bowfronts are 30" across so I assume you have 2x24" lighting it.
Doesn't sound like enough for clams as all.

You'll prob need a 4 bulb T5 and with your tank you have to go with the 24".
Only Coralife makes a 30" fixture with 30" (roughly) bulbs and they are the only ones who offer replacements as well, only available in 10K and 420nm.

I'd look into an LED setup of some type.

The 36 bowfront is a nice sized tank, I debated getting one for months...

How long have you had the clam in there and do you have another tank running with the 4 foot quad fixture?

I love the 36 bowfront. I have a 55 gallon I'm gonna have up in about a month so I put the 48 on the bowfront for now but with only 2 bulbs on. I'm afraid of harming my fish. My clam seems happy with more light. The clam will go to the 55 gallon when it's up.

DIY or Razor would work better and be cheaper

I built a nice live rock shelf for my clam at the top of the tank and he seems to be much happier now.
