Well its finally getting started, filter is ordered and due in April. Electrician is due the end of this week. Lights will be ordered mid march and starting to design a closed loop system using two Sea-Swirls. Still tons of stuff to buy and put together but thats why a mid-April time line works.

Vamp you are invited once its up. Sometimes it pays to have friends! My buddy is an electrician and came over to give power to the tank tonight.
He ran 2 20 amp circuits over to the tank. 1 is for the lights only in a single 4 way gang box GFI protected and the second is run to 3 4way gang boxes that are all GFI protected total of 4 boxes 3 under the stand and one above the canopy. The circuit for the lights is under the stand. The other circuit has 2 under the stand and also runs the box above the canopy. That gives me 12 total outlets with 4 dedicated to the lighting. The one above the canopy was put there for anything run in the tank or on top. I plan on running the sea swirls and possibly the pump for them out of that box. I haven't decided if I want a pump in the tank or build my own overflow for a third in the tank. I also have an acrylic single over flow lying on a shelf so lots of options I am also considering going with 4 swirls and not use just a regular return. any way thats just an update. Oh and yes all 3reefers that want to visit when this one is up and running are invited. I would love to do a tour of all the tanks one day.

Just a quick update. I was unhappy with the bulkheads All Glass uses now with the molded hose barbs because I want to hard plumb under the tank. Any way talked to All glass today and they are sending the "old" style standard bulkheads. Thats twice in a week All Glass has been really cool with me so giving props where they are due.

    Update

OK just got the sump from Lifereef and dang that man can pack! Great packaging insured great shipping! All fittings included and it looks sweet! It was 75 deg outside so the kids wanted to play and then off to work tonite so pics to follow. Once again though he builds really cool stuff!

    Follow up

Installed the life reef sump and protein skimmer. Installed the closed loop except for the Sea Swirls as they haven't arrived yet. Received the light I ordered from Aquatraders....Good Lord its Bright! Oh and heavy! Its installed but waiting on 1 PC bulb that broke during shipping. Curious tho when I fired up the fixture the temp above the tank hit 120 deg on my coral life digital thermometer. This is with a dry tank but kinda made me nervous. The light is mounted 12 inches above the tank and because its so bright I really don't want to raise it higher and blind everyone in the room! Still lots more to go but so far so good and I am really happy with everything so far
