    I have never seen that red one before. I had a similar growth to the top one at one time. It was in my 29g FOWLR. I'm not sure what it was but it dies withing a week or two. It looks somewhat like a carpet coral.

    I have the red stuff all over my rock. I forget what it is called, but i s harmless.

    That "red stuff" is called Coraline algae and is very beneficial to your tank.

    That is not coralline algae.

    well the second pic is a colony of foramaniferans. spelling is probably wrong... (red tree forams) but the first pic, hmmmm..... what does it feel like? it lookks like dead skeleton of a used to be coral but its really hard to tell.

    thats what i thought too for the first picture, it does look like the skeleton from a dead coral.
    did you said that it is spreading? or has it been the same all the time?
