Wow. That picture/drawing is just awful AW-FULL! My god man. I mean, seriously. C'mon. Really? Are you playing with me? ;) :p

    OK. I'll stop now.

Refugium will need to be drilled on both sides. Tee off of your overflow and have that going to one side, then the other will just drain into the sump. Very simple.

Or you could leave your current set up completely alone and get a second return pump that goes to your new fuge and hook up an overflow for it that goes into the intake of your sump. I ran two tanks like that for awhile with no problems. Its also nice because it makes dialing the flow down a separate thing for both tanks.

Much better but I bet your kids had so much fun helping you with the first one lol.

that looks like a workable layout.

Honestly that way is kind of a waste. There is no reason to run two pumps. That's just more heat, noise, and energy that are wasted.

This is how I would do it:

Just some extra PVC and a ball valve and you would be good to go. No extra pumps. And a lot less flood risk. Plus if you're running water up the sump, you putting water into it that has already been skimmed and everything, it would be kind of a waste there also.
