    lol...I feel like I gonna get stoned ( meaning rocks thrown ) for this one !! ;D

    I know what everyone says ...read it a hundred times about the RO water being a very important part of Reef Keeping .... However !!

    I am not on City Water ....comes from over 700 feet down in a well, which tests almost perfect ( little high in hardness ). LFS says....no need for RO water ...( LFS in business since 1967 ...not deathco or petsmart ).

    I am finalizing my design for the 125 to start set up soon...and I do have a RO unit ( came with the used 125 I bought Coral life Pureflo II 24 GPD) I currently have a 90 gal S/W ( no RO water ) up and running with no issues except high phosphate at the moment...1 month old.....was a fast cycle and water is looking great !

    Is it really worth the effort to use the RO unit ?? or is this just mainly for people on city treated water ??

    easy with the rocks please !! ;D

    I started with tap water and suffered problems. The thing with well water is that you don't know what could have leached into the aquifer. Everything from fertilizer to heavy metals. I would feel much safer using RO/DI.

    +1 on the heavy metals and other contaminants. I would use RO.

    let see a few fishes and bunch of corals that died a couple of hermits added to the tank to control algae problem, a few things here and there, the cost of getting a RO/DI unit, 180, everything else is priceless

    I agree. You can pickup a meter online for about 20 bucks. Making sure your at 0 ppm is important.

    tds = total dissolved solids
