I was wondering if I could use 2 of these for my 29g biocube?
Would I still get good coral growth?
If so, what 2 colors would look good?

    Stunner LED Strips - 6watt, 12in.

2 would not be enough. I'm guessing you would need upwards of 6 or more for coverage. A par 38 or 2, or a DIY kit from rapidled.com would be better.

I'm not looking to spend $245.00 on a diy led upgrade from rapid led. I'm already building a sump/ refugium, or putting in a Intank media basket with skimmer for it.

255?? You should be able to do for less if order it right. You can use aluminum T or square tube channeling as a heat sink for about $20.

Or par 38 LEDs run $75-$120 each. Ledtric.com had them

I would like to keep the hood on it. That is one of the things that I like about the biocubes.

Basicly, i'm trying to do some mods and upgrades to both my biocube and my 40g breeder. With out spending my whole tax refund.

Although a bit pricey, the RapidLED retrofit kit is probably your best option. I'm afraid Alex is correct, except I don't think you could get enough of those under your hood. Stunner strips are more for visual aid; they're low-power and they lack penetration as well as the PAR necessary for coral growth... unless we read you wrongly. Are you looking to replace or enhance your existing light?

Don't get me wrong, I've had pretty good soft coral growth the the PC lights that are in it. I'm just looking to change it up some.

You're right though, the rapid led biocube kit is a little pricey. I would probably get it if it was more like $200

I want to keep the hood on it. Maybe I could just keep the PC in it and add a stunner strip to it. Does anyone think that would look good?

It may. You might be fine with one of these:

Aquarium 36 LEDs Dimmable DIY LED kit with optics

    or these

with (maybe) this (I'm not sure if this would be the right size. I don't have much experience with LED's)
