well i tested my water for the first time on saturday. after a little over a month the results are about what i figured they would be:

    temp- 78.5
    ammonia- 0
    nitrite- 0
    nitrate- 17 ppm
    ph- 8.2
    salinity- .023
    kh- 10.9
    alk- 3.89
    c.c.- 360

got the water mixing for a 10 gallon water change now, will add it tomorrow evening and then monitor it for a couple of weeks. these results are about what i expected. what say you??

With salinity at .023 everything would be dead....;D Hope you fat fingered it and it's suppose to be 1.023 :p
The only thing I didn't see is Mg.

Would wait on the water change, you'll just prolong the cycle. Just let it run.

All seems ok with the exception of DKH and Cal(IMO). If I was you, raise the DKH to 12-13, which will raise Alk at the same time and your Cal up to 400-450ppm. BTW, you forgot about Mag and po4.

i didn't run EVERY test, don't even have all the test kits yet! just wanted to check up on it and see how its cycling. otty- won't a water change help take down some of the nitrates which will in turn help even out some of my other numbers?

Don't rush it, just let the tank run. Mother nature will do her job.
