I have a 1g pico with some shrooms etc.

I lost my goby that was in there (jumped) and I have yet to find another I want. I find my hermits trying to eat my feather duster so I have been throwing some pellets in there...What should I do?

So I don't have to feed the tank?

    Hermits eat the pellets.

crabs are oppurtunistic predators, they will probably try to eat the feather dusters no matter what.

    I would try snails.

Sounds like a plan. I have some type of slug in there and a wild little white star fish.

If you feed the crabs, they won't go after your other stuff. They're "opportunistic" and eating other stuff because they're starving!

I never had a hermit eat something that wasn't already dead, because I always made sure they were fed. Not making sure your cleanup crew is being well-fed is no different than keeping a fish & not feeding it.
