125 gallon lighting question

If you arent putting any corals in for a while you might just want to hold off on lights while it cycles. Obviously if you wait till after the cycle to put the lights on then you will get your algae blooms after the cycle most likely. But might be another idea.

 

Softies at the top with PC's? Are you kidding?

I have PC's, 2 fistures each 36in long over my 125 long.

Each side has an actinic, and a 10K, each at 97W. They say they only last about a year.
MIne are about 6 month old. Getting all 4 at once online, they're about $20 each.

As far as light goes
My softies are all at the bottom, grwoing like mad.
My large LPS- trumpets blue and green, are also near the bottom.
My closed brain maze- yep, also at teh bottom.
I have various sps's in the top half.

I don't dose anything, and never spot feed either.- except for my two anenomes.

They all look great and are growing well.

While I understand virtually no one use PC's anymore, (mine came with my equiopment buy off CL whick got me started), for now, mine is more than adequate.
