10 days Want Open

I done a search, and couldn't find the info I needed..
My tank is 3 months old, and I'm still learning..


I bought around 8 mushrooms..
5 were ricordia.. All doing very well.
But 2 will just barely open..?? I've had them 10 days ..
There mouths are open, They look good, color etc.. I use my
turkey baster
and put food near them..
Ones mouth is white.. And bigger then the other..
I have them on the bottom of my tank, to help reduce shipping problems..
I have a 55 gal tank with 260 watts light..

Do you think they are getting ready to split or something..
Or I just need to give them more time..
The company I got them from, will replace them for 14 days..
And this is day 10.....
Do I have a problem..
Every thing in my tank is doing very good..

pics would go a long way in helping you...they may or may not be happy in the spot they are in, meaning too much flow/light, stressed from shipping, it's really hard to say without seeing them

 

My camera is no good at taking pictures of my tank..

I just moved them up a little higher in my tank..
There mouth closed as I was moving them, then reopened a few min, later, So I know they still alive..
How long can they stay closed befor doing harm, And the mouth open means they are getting some food.. Right ????

Sorry for all the questions, but I'll hate to lose these...

And all my other leathers and mushrooms are doing fine..
And none are close to one another...

 

Hey Mission, Both are ... ricordia...
I got 3 more ricordia at the same time and they opened the same day..
And I keep the leathers on one side of the tank, and the mushrooms on the other side..
Tank is 44 inches long..

OnLine...
My LFS didn't have anything with any color..
They came out of florida, and I live in Mobile Al..So not far..
I done everything right about placeing them in my tank..
I read ALOT here on this website and others, To make sure I know what I'm doing befor hand.. I know I should know better, But have to take a chance and trust someone sometimes..
I'm going to send them email about my problem, and see what they say..
She seemed like nice people.. Maybe tomorrow they will look better ??

It was a 5 pack.. Plus I ordered a few extra..

 

Belive it or not, YES ...!!!!!!!

I took your advice and moved them higher, around 6 inches..
And both are 1/2 open.... So I think there's still hope ..

I'll keep you posted..

You don't know how much info means to us just starting out..
