Depends on the size of the rock. In a tank like your 90, I would be pretty sure all would be well. But that being said, there will be some die-off. If you can, I would try to find a base rock just to be safe.

hi Divott, I know whats on your mind? mini cycle?

well IMO, it depends on the size of the rock, in relation to volume of water

but I would say put it in your tank and it wont be an issue?

after all, we would never buy any corals, attached to live rock, if we worried about causing mini cycles all the time

In your tank, you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

thnx pack and steve. unfortunately, im pretty sure they dont have base rock at my lfs , or havent noticed it. and if i was to estimate, it would prob only be a couple lbs at most. they carry the live fiji , which is pretty porous.

I don't think a couple of pounds will make a difference, especially being cured as long as you keep the rock in water you probably won't have much die off at all. I have added cured live rock up to 8 lbs and not experienced any sort of mini cycle.
