Also the glue that is used essentially makes a chemical weld so breaking the seam will never be as perfect as when it was cut on a CNC and glued...
Sorry don't mean to disagree, but breaking the seam is more risky than to simply reinforce and fill with water IMO

Just built a custom top off tank out of 3/8" first time...my joints had a ton of bubbles, but I just reinforced with weld on 16 on the inside and let...

Here is a rating I just found...for 38bucks for that model...yeah seems like it wont last very long... This pump lasted ONE WEEK! Was pumping...
Looks basically like a RIO to me, 1000gph at 60watts, they seem to cost very little on amazon...dunno for a main tank maybe have a backup...
