I got a very small frag of sun coral today, two small heads. When I got home I noticed the frag has hair algae on it, along with 1 bubble algae. I put it in a container with one red tip hermit crab to eat the algae. The thing is. My tank is 75 gal, all DIY rock I made. I used dry too. Since I didn't use any live rock is there a chance I could introduce GHA into my system? My tank is very, very clean. I'm thinking of not putting the coral in. The bubble algae fell off so I got rid of it.

Would any of you chance it?

Hair algea, yeah i wouldnt have an issue putting it in my tank. Before I did place it i would try to pick off as much as possible. What type of fish do you have, any algea eaters? I wouldnt have a tank without a lawnmower blenny.

Are you aware of the care of the suncoral?

+1 wouldn't think twice after some cleaning. the odds of keeping GHA outta your tank forever is pretty slim. Just take necessary precautions.
