    Hi

What proper food should I feed my Ocellaris clownfish?
I have ocean nutrition prime reef flakes but would not eat much, mostly spit it out immediately. I have frozen brine shrimps and he loves them but I would like to give him food alternatives like pellets. Does he eat hikari marine s pellets?

    Thanks

Every individual is different, so it's a "try it and see" kind of venture. Fortunately, clownfish are one of the few that can thrive on most anything, including brine alone, so at least you have that to fall back on while you try other foods.

If your clown is wild, it may take a while to accept prepared foods. You might actually get her to eat ONPR by mixing a small amount of brine with it once or twice per week to help her associate flakes with food. Once my damsels started eating ONPR, they wouldn't touch frozen again.

what is ONPR? tried the acronym scan first :)

I feed a small amount (can be consumed in about 2 minutes) 3 x a day. I would suggest feeding fish at least 1-2 x per day but that is not absolutely necessary and fish can go a day or two without food but I think it comes down to personal preference somewhat.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Mine eat this hikari marine s pellets.

However the foods they show the most enthusiasm for are Cyclop-eeze and mysis.

My mocha clowns absolutely love mysis. But I also feed tropical flakes. And on occasion as a treat about once a week I'll throw a chunk of rods food the original blend in my tank and watch them go abssolutly wild.

When I feed him, he seems to always want more. Should I keep feeding him at that time or stop?
