What eats green hair algae?

    Hey everyone, Im starting to get some sort of green hair algae growth on my glass. It looks like really small blades of grass growing. I dont have a large clean up crew yet and im wondering which snails or crabs for that matter eat this sort of stuff. Are there any fish that eat it?

    Lawnmower blennies are great algae eaters. My emerald crab doesnt do that good a job but every one elses does so I dont know. My sally light foot crab is such a fast eater she looks like she is a crack addict.

    Turbo snails do a good job in my tank for most of the thinner types, there are some that they don't pay any attention to so it totally depends what you have exactly.

    If you can have a sailfin tang in your tank.. Read up on them first..
    They do real good..

    I would steer clear from "algae eating" blennies. They often times starve. There's also an article out in one of the common aquarium mags. on "algae eating blennies" recently. The theory is that they are actually eating at detritus that builds up in the HA. Not actually targeting the HA but what's in it. Accidentally consuming the HA and other microfauna.

    Well the green hair algae is growing pretty quick. My most recent addition was a beautiful striped bristletooth tang and it eats all my algaes, even some red cyano i have on a sponge -- actuallly saving the sponge. The tang doesn't eat the GHA though.
    I know my tank is not too big, but I have read about the long nose tangs eating GHA. What about a baby yellow tang? What are the chances that it will consume the GHA?
