Count me in! Just started up again, I have been out of the hobby for about 5 years. Ready to get back to it. Always looking to meet local reefers.

 

Heya welcome. So where are you guys getting your livestock? I stopped by Sierra Aquatics on Saturday and the salt section wasn't looking good at all.

 

Pretty much online for livestock purchases.

 

I'll be honest, Not a fan of Sierra Aquatics at all! The selection is super small and the coral tank looks like crap. IMO. I ventured into Oasis and they are far from top notch (but best in this area), but they are friendly and have a better selection. I went to Sac for my liverock. Seems online is going to be the better choice. Where are you guys ordering from? Maybe we can put a group order in sometime in the future and save some cash?

 

Hello! Names Cody started saltwater in June 2011. Hopefully this forum will bring some frag swaps/ friendships to the area. Just to touch on the above posts.... I'm not a huge fan of Sierra either. Not that the selection is bad but the customer service is far from decent. I've never been in there and been helped. Oasis on the other hand is the opposite. Both guys there (Jim and I can never remember the other guys name) are very friendly and ready to help. The coral tank has recently been very stocked with decent prices. Hopefully the new frag tank that is cycling will be just as good as everything else they have. Other than that my friend and I go to sacramento about once every three months (your reef, aquarium depot, and aqua life) more just to take a look at something different than the lfs. Anywho glad to see a local forum that can bring some fun to the hobby!

 

I didn't know Oasis was back open with the saltwater. Ill have to stop by. Always liked there stock and prices before.

 

I was there today and they were just putting away a new shipment. Gonna go back tonight once it has a chance to open up.
