So for quite some time my McCoskers Flasher Wrasse has been COVERED in white dots, for the quite some time i thught it was ick but was never to sure because of all the pics of ick that i have seen were risin and his is flat, i also thought it was strange that he was the only one that got the "ick" but i figured it was stress from being beat up by the chromis all the time.

But tonight i was scoping around my tank and found him hiding underneath my bubble coral. Earlier today he had the white dots but not as bad as he has now and its BAD he is just COVERED head to fin in these white dots, looks pretty bad. But now im positive its stings from the bubble.

So now i guess i just need to get him to stop hiding underneath the bubble

i know right, and all this time ive been blaming the chromis, but he's still evil and gives him multiple smack downs *really sad, i help protect my wrasse when i can* i wish he would really stop because im afraid the bubble may end up killing him, he's already eaten at least 1 fish

The bubbles on a bubble coral don't sting though. It only extends it's feeding/stinging tentacles when the lights are out:

I wouldn't rule out ich. The spots appearing then disappearing are just indicative of how the life cycle of the parasite works:

Also, I believe that stings from a coral would show up on a fish as black marks, not white ones. Not positive about that though.

How do you figure that your bubble coral has eaten a fish? I don't think that they're capable of eating such large food.

Keep us posted on your Wrasse...I picked up one about a week and a half ago because of your postings on how much you enjoyed him. I love mine, he is all over the tank and eats like anything I put in. So far no white spots though so I hope yours gets better soon!!!

ohhhhh so the the coral stings arent white, their black, hmmm maybe it is ick then.

and back when i first got all the chromis, within the first 24hrs all but one died, i found one in the bubbles mouth, one floating at the top, one had died on the sand, and one was never found, so its possible that the bubble ate two but i think it just ate the one

oh the feeders were out at that time too, they normally are only out during lights out? maybe mien is just weird their out for the majority of the day when lights are out, and of course when moonlights or on

I'm not too sure about that though so you might want to research it a bit more.

I don't think you can see the ich parasite with the naked eye though. What you may have there is an isopod.
