Bubblegum Mille and a red Mille

 

Nice, I really like the Sunset, Bubble Gum, Rainbow MIllepora, so many acropora, so little tank room.

 

I wish I understood SPS talk. I have no idea what you'll are taking about when it comes to names. Just as bad as zoa's.

 

This is why I like acropora more, I usually go by genus, but millepora is one that has been aquacultured so much, and there are so many different strains, that common names are becoming a bit prevelant.

Bubble gum is just a brilliant pink, can develop green in lower light.

Sunset is orange tissue with green polyps, it's pretty but the green polyps usually hide all the orange tissue.

Rainbow is any Mille with 3 or more colors in the tissue. Most common id say is blue purple and green.

 

I fail at Chalice, Favia, many Montipora,.

The Group of Acropora is huge though

The Millepora all have a scale like appearance to the corallite structure. They often show excellent polyp extension with a wide variety of color. Some people claim they are the easiest of acro but a lot are maricultured and do well for months and then slowly fail.

Acropora spathulata is similar in appearance, and there is still speculation if they are actually a Millepora. Then you have Acropora prostrata, all three types have an exaggerated slopping corallite stucture, almost snake skin like.

 

Is that the nasuta? Would you say pink lemonade is a nasuta?

Yeah I believe both Shades of Fall and PL are Nausta but I have not found any conclusive documentation to verify it.

My Struber a stag is starting to do nice things and nice coloration as well.



Having an issue with one Spath, they are so difficult. I might try a Prostrata but no more Spath. Someone informed me they like cooler waters around 76-78, not sure what to believe. One is fantastic, the older one though is struggling. Oh well you win some and loose some in the acropora game for sure.

All right so the first pic isn't coral but he came in today and was so photogenic.

I bit the billet this show and bought all wilds/maricultures. Jason fox offered me a sweet frag pack for $400 but I had to pass (fox flame, ARC fireworks, and fire cracker) so anyways the first is some blue stag, second is a highlighter aculeus, teal tenius, a mystery mariculture, under full lighting, then just whites, then some obligatory top down shots of my abro because I'm just so dang impressed with myself for keeping this alive, then a group shot of my bubblegum milles.
