    Hello everyone:

I have a acropora that has been doing great. Great color and everything. The past 3 days I have noticed the very tips of the branches turn a dark purple and the polyps on the tops have turned wgite. Well this progressed for a couple days with only 2 of the polyps with the problem. I noticed yesterday that the polyps with the issue started gooping out white stuff. Tonitht when I looked there was about 4 with the same issues and the first two actually had white stringy goo trailing in the current about 2 inches. It looked like snot for lack of a better description. I pouched the polyp and the stuff came off and the purple tips of the coral felt soft like they crumbled a little tiny bit when I touched them. A checked all my other water properties and everything checks out but the Cal that was at 350 instead of 400 where I like it. I will get a photo when my batteries charge back up.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Jay

Hould they be soft and secrete a white mucas substance? They did turn very purple before they started "milking"

I have never seen any of my acro visably poop. The crumbily tips and low cal have my worried. Do you have anymore water parameters?

    Could it be under attack.
Acros do produce a slime from the polyps but typically its not that much.

If you blow on the tip dose it blow off revealing the purple tip again?
