But, nice snail btw, BUT, when the power is off, NOTHING should overflow.
Snail in the return (to sump), should/could make the DT high/overflow.
But in a power out, things should just equalize, snail of no snail in the return pipe.
    I'm missing something here.
If you have an secondary/emergency drain= it should have been flowing more doe to the snail in the main return. Looks like a herbie/durso maybe?

Yes, and/or add a siphon break at/near the water level, etc.

    Yes Vinny! You win!
Any idea how to get it out? Really don't want to have to drain overflow. Plumbing is a hot mess.
What type of mesh should I get?

The pipe shouldnt be glued into the bulkhead so just pull it out and get the snail out of there. If the water in the overflow is gonna overflow the sump drain a little water out of it first.

    Thanks.
It's not glued but would leak a little so have that white tape around threads to help seal it.

    He's out!!! Boom.

Ran a toilet snake from the bottom up. Pushing snail to the top. Snake wasn't long enough so had to use nettle nose pliers to grab him.
