I have no idea what's going on. When pump is on my overflow will up and sump empties. I turn pump off and sump fills and then overflows. Why isn't the siphon breaking? My pump has been making some noises so was going to remove and clean. But why won't it stop overflowing my sump when power is off?

Broke siphon by turning out take nozzles up out of water. That seems to have broken siphon so I can catch my breath.
    Why is this happening?

I would try opening up the siphon break.
Also, I would try and see if you can clean out the siphon break. Maybe there is just a little buildup in there?

Thanks. Siphon break is a wide hole. Water was going into the sump from the return piping. That's weird. When pump is on water wasn't going through overflow. But once pump off water flow back through return.

Is there a strainer on it? If not there is probably a snail in there.

Did you top-off malfunction and dump a bunch of extra water into the system?

Adjust the return right below water level in your display. When it empties into your sump the water will break when it goes below the return

Found the problem. Big turbo snail clogging sump intake plumbing. No idea how I'll get it out but now I know the reason
