I am new to the anemone worl and I started out by getting steered in the wrong direction by my LFS so I had to resort to my own research and put together my best guess. It is also very hard to compare my specimen with the pics online when mine hasn't opened up fully and extended its tentacles. It does have a red foot, it is white almost a cream color, and it has purple tips on its tentacles. The tentacles are very short and I don't know if they are supposed to be short or if they are retracted because it hasn't settled in. I will add a pic to this thread tonight.

Thanks for the advice. I usually research before I buy but sometimes a person gets caught in the moment and makes that impulse buy. I'm sure my LFS won't buy it back so I think I might try it in my Red Sea Max which is well established and see how it reacts to the PC lighting before giving it up, I can move most of my corals to my 110 Gal and other than that I just have my clowns. You never know, maybe the clowns will take to the anemone. Worst case scenario, I lose the anemone and gutting a 34 Gal is much easier that my 110, that thing is like 7' tall with the canopy on it and hard to work on at the best of times.

IMO, as others have stated, let it be and WATCH IT (but do NOT touch it unless its in danger of being sucked up by a pump, etc). When i had a Sebae, it hid for 2 weeks, and my parameters were pristine.. Some just simply take longer to acclimate than others.

Your Sebae, however (and i have seen them with florecent red foots in LFS') is most likely bleached. Sebaes are naturally brown/cream colored unless they excreete their zooxanthellae... That being said, Make SURE u feed it, maybe 2-3 times per week to compensate (mysis is unnacceptable- try silver sides/ or a half a cube of marine fiest (thawd) etc...).

heres a link to a website that may help. Its a little hoaky, but the info is pretty good... www.karensroseanemones.com

I have one and its tightly positioned into a rock as u can see from the front view pic and the back view pic. It's doing fantastic. So yes, depending on the anemone it very well may choose and thrive in such a position as this. It's normal for these guys to wander about the tank until it finds a place it likes. Then sorta hunker down into and make it a home.

I personally have found this to be absolutely correct.
