Ricordia growth

    Okay friends, Im having trouble with my ricordias. Yesterday I took a little trip out if town to go and look at a fish store that was highly recommend and in there awesome 350g mixed reef tank they had a insane ricordia colony.... I had mine in some bright light, there's were more in the shade.... So I moved mine, but I just want to know what I'm doing wrong?

    AI prime 85% at peak for 1&1/2 hours
    Nitrates 0 at most less than 5
    Water temp 78
    Magnesium 1260
    Cal 380
    PH 8.0

    We're you having trouble with them growing cody? I honestly would not try to mimick the fish store because the variables, including there lighting, are to great. If your ricordia were doing fine then I'd put them back under the light. Once your corals acclimate to your tank then that's the condition they like. The ricordia we had loved being blasted by the halides, they actually grew to fast. I would leave them how they were and watch them grow.

    Well DSC they never have grown... They get small and then back to the same size but never bigger.. They have never grew past the size of a penny? Man I want a wet thumb....lol!

    Now they had them in two tanks both colony's were very nice... They both were under LED's, radions to be exact.

    Too much flow can cause them to shrink as well. If they haven't grown at all then moving them shouldn't hurt. Make sure there getting light and mild flow. What's your alkalinity at?
