Since it's a green bubble tip I'm aware they like to move. I placed it in a shell to try and keep it stationary, well lit and it doesn't quite seem to be working. I have this wonderful Maroon Clown very nice looking fish been in there for a few years. Took to the anemone as soon as it went in. It's a little OCD about where it wants the anemone to be. It keeps moving it no matter where I put the anemone it takes it in the corner. Pictures to follow. Currently the anemone is upside down. The clown fish is moving the sand and crushed coral out of the way. I am assuming the clown fish has a plan. The question is, Do I let nature take it's course? or, Step it and try a new location?

    good luck!

I can tell you from experience that you may move the anemone wherever you may like, BUT he may not stay there. I have 2 bubble tips myself ( 1 being a green) and they will go wherever they choose no matter how many times you move them. My rose bubble likes little water flow and has planted itself in a rock, while my green is at the top of my lr right in the path of the return water. In my experience with bt anemone is that they are all different in what they like and they will go where they want. Just make sure you feed them. I feed mine once a week, every other week they get fed twice a week. Doing this has seemed to done well as they have both doubled in size since coming to our home. Hope this helps you, but always remember that what works for some is not best for everyone. I found in this hobby that everything is constant trial and error.

Good luck and most ppl here are always willing to answer ?'s.

Leave it be. It won't matter what you do, anyway. The most you'll accomplish is stressing your tank inhabitants unnecessarily by constantly having your hands in there.

I thought that as well. I was just worried about it being face down. However, I guess it's used to it.

I've actually had them attach to the bottom of a rock or shell, then stretch their base several inches to turn their oral disc and tentacles toward the light. Didn't look very comfortable to me, but then again, I'm not an anemone. :)

I think the OP said that the clown keeps moving the nem. This can be a problem as it can stress the nem out. You might have to contain the clown until the nem finds a spot it likes and really gets a foot hold.

Today the NEM looks all shriveled up! I won't be able to catch the clown fish though with all that rock. I'll have to keep an eye on it and trade it later for a rock anemone. After I nurse it back to health. I have a box I made out of egg crate I can put the NEM in.

Can you get a pic? It may be fine; it's not uncommon for a nem to close. They do that periodically to exchange water, expel waste, etc. Scared me half to death the first time my first one done that.
