I just went to my LFS and he has a quarantine tank set up that I can use as long as I can catch her and get her out. I'm going to have to take down the majority of my LR cause she knows every nook and cranny to hide under..

Vinny: Thanks for the link, going to read it now.

I've pretty much been following all of those tips. This is my first bout with ich, although I have only been in the hobby just over three years. The only change I can think of is I went from feeding a few small meals(variety) daily to feeding every other day as per the advice of someone who's been in the hobby for a long time. I'm going in and trying to catch her now

The 2 gallon ziplock bag method seems to work well for others. If its not too late...

I caught her and she's now in the sick bay at my LFS. I'm setting up a quarantine tank here at my house in a few hours.

so glad to hear you were able to help her. I also needed to clarify my response, when you first posted, it was not at a point where the fish was covered so what I mentioned would have not been true had you noticed the fish getting worse.....you got great advice and did the right thing. I hope she makes it!

QT tank is up and running. She doesn't look good though, very lethargic. I'm hoping it's from all the moving around today. 10gal Qt and dosed copper.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
You can not have live rock or any charcoal running in the HOB filter, both absorb the Copper.

Did you get a test kit for the Copper treatment, Seachem is a good test kit and you'll need an Ammonia badge.

I have a small piece of filter media in the HOB nothing else. I wasn't even sure I should have put any in the tank. I'll pick up a test kit and badge today. Thanks for all the info

Heres another. When you have been in the hobby as long as I have and if you stick around here long enough you will quickly realise that there are fish that tend to live and fish that tend to die in captivity. Most Tangs belong in the second category.(not saying its impossible)The only problem you are having is selection.Stick with fish that adapt well to your system keep up with maintenance and you will not have as many problems.Enjoying is always better then worrying.;)

Thanks Boombatz! What I was not aware of is that this fish breed are ICH MAGNETS!!! Lesson learned once again. It's the only "large breed" fish I have in there.

edit: I feel your pain on getting attached to fish. I had a very hard time letting my Clown Trigger go when he got too big.
