So, your other fish now have ich?

I only ask because if they have ich now, expect the spots to disappear for a couple weeks, then come back about 50 times worse. This cycle will continue until the fish either develop temporary immunities or die.

I would really get the fish out of the tank and treat them immediately. If I could go back and do it again the right way for my fish, I would have gotten them out much earlier than I did.

Yeah, I'm one of the people who do clean water and good food as the "treatment" for ich. I know the ich will never be gone from the tank (well, it may kill itself off after a year or so), but I'm not too concerned.

    Thanks though.

I'm just coming off of losing 7 otherwise perfectly healthy fish (the tang came in with ich; that's the exception to a literal "perfectly healthy") from clean water (7.5 nitrates) that ate a ton of garlic-laden frozen food (a mix of nearly everything H2O Life makes with Garlic Xtreme) to ich, on the second wave of outbreak, so excuse my skepticism of people having a real, long-term success with any of those methods.

I understand. But I had ich before in my 37 and didn't lose any fish. 8 months later and it hasn't come back. So I'm being optimistic and hoping for the best. There's no way I can QT all my fish and coral.

I don't know how I missed this thread before.

Oh well, I did try and read every post though before responding.

Did you do anything to treat the ich/ lympho besides water changes and feeding?

I am very happy to hear that the fish all seem to be getting better. Is the clown better too?

I didn't do anything to treat the lympho. There is no cure for it, so the best you can do is keep the water clean, feed well and hope for the best. Thankfully the virus is self-limiting, so eventually it goes away on its own - though it can take awhile. Mine seemed to go away pretty quick, but in some cases the lympho can last a couple months.

The ich is still hanging around. The male clown is pretty covered, but he's still eating well.

Thanks! My big anthias has gone on another hunger strike, lol, but I hope she'll eat again one day.

Hey kc, how are they doing?

I don't know if you have any fish that will eat ornamental shrimp, but my Hippo tang had ick all over. He'll get better, then it will come back and the circle was endless and frustrating.

I finally bought 1 skunk cleaner shrimp and the hippo tang has been not only ick free, but his color just came back.

Before the shrimp, I was feeding him very well and soaking the food in garlic, etc. But it was, in my case, very impressive. Just 2 days after adding the shrimp, she was absolutely, and I mean A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y clean. I paid for this shrimp $21 but it was very well worth it.

    Keep us updated.

Well, here's an update. My fish are doing really well!! The lympho is GONE, no one else contracted it and everything seems to be going smoothly (knock on wood!). All in all, lympho is not too bad of a disease! haha
