I know, I hope Mission will let me re-post in the POTM. It looks much better zoomed/cropped.
BlackJack, are you going to enter?

ooh, no....I don't think I have the skills to tackle that yet, although I do have a rediculously large memory card, but I have too many issues that are unchangeable to get stunning pics.

For example, cuttingras was asking me about the "ghosting" in the pic. When the camera is turned on, the motorized lens extends automatically (don't have any lens options). I have a double door (to the outside) to the right of the tank that has blinds on it, but sunlight shines through the string slots even when they're close all the way. I have to wait until night time to take pics in order for the room to be dark.

I also have the VHO lights all the way across the tank, but only one of my 175w MH lights has a working ballast on it right now, so I won't get good consistent lighting until I get my new ballast next week. When I turn off my VHO's (to get rid of the blue hues) I only have MH light in the center 2 or 3 feet of the 7 foot long tank. We'll work on that part soon. I have a new CoralVue triple E-ballast on order to control all 3 MH's, then it should look pretty decent.

I think the pictures have improved dramatically from before, thanks to the settings you two recommended. Only problem is, when I turn my camera off, all the settings revert to default (mostly automatic), so every time I turn it it back on, it's menu hell for 5 minutes before I can take a shot. One day, I'll get a pro Nikkon or something like that with all the special lenses and filters. Until then, this is a decent camera for free :)

Sounds like the exact same issues as me! I just have a little Sony Cybershot. Your camera seems to have even more settings than mine. I have to wait till night falls. And my pictures are a LOT better with just my MH on, and my T5's off(they are blue).
Just play with it a bit. Also, a tri-pod helps reduce the blur IMMENSELY! Just a cheap $15 dollar one from wal-mart will do the trick. Im saving up for a Nikon D-series also, probably like a 50 or 60.
