I have my first tank(biocube 29) and need to learn how to start up and maintain a saltwater tank. What would be the best book buys to get me started. Any input would be great.

You say this is your first tank (congratulations!). What is your background in biology or chemistry? If you have at least a basic foundation in these areas then the finest reference on the market is The Reef Aquarium: Science, Art, and Technology, Vol. 3 (Nov 25, 2005) by Julian Sprung and J. Charles Delbeek. You can pick it up from amazon for around $57 which is a pretty good discount off of list. The first two volumes in this series are also very good but if you were only going to get one book, I'd go with Volume 3.

I would highly suggest as your first book the Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Bob Fenner.

even though i think salt water aquariums for dummies is a bad book now... it is a good book for an intro... depending on how much you know already.
