What size tank(s) do you have? What types of coral do you keep? I've had a tough time with growing any in my 55g but have managed to start the road of clean(er) water have have some waving hand anthelia's. Our 20g tank however was established and have some frogspawn, anthelia, and various neon color zoas.

Yeah you would think more people in this area would chime in.

I've got s 5g Pico right now. It's an Ecoxotic with LEDs, the "reef" package and I love it! I have acans, zoas/palys and other various softiest. Softies/LPS are my interest, not too big on SPS. Have some brittle stars and sexy shrimp. Makes me happy :)

Wow, sounds like you've taken a step up in size - from what I've heard I'd think that would make it easier to keep things happy. I'm sure it's a process to get "established", though. Hopefully the new tank will "click" for you sooner than later.

I have a 75G non-drilled with 20G tall sump. It's still in final testing, though, so it's filled with RODI water, dead sand, and dead rock. When I'm finally satisfied the overflow system and rest of the plumbing are leak-free and reliable I'll put the salt in and I have a bottle of One and Only to try to help jump-start it. I'm hoping the large volume/fish ratio will also help make up for the lack of live rock when I start it with a couple ~1" or smaller clowns. I should post some pictures on it like you have versus take up space here - maybe I'll get around to that sometime in the next few days.

In the meantime, I have a 15G quarantine tank. It is at 78F, 1.023 SG, 8.2 PH, and has a 200GPH HOB filter for both water flow and filtration. There's a 90GPH powerhead in there too but when I turn it on it almost seems like too much. I had two clownfish in there, purchased last Friday, until last night when I lost one. I'm not sure what I did wrong, or if it was just bad luck with the particular fish, but that's probably a topic for another thread though. :(

Louisville is a little ways away for sure, but I have a friend in Bloomington with family in Louisville and he says it's about a 2-hour drive. For me that's not terrible, but I think pretty much anyone would prefer to reduce any distance they can. Bedford is probably one of the most "central" places we could get with the 3 of us so far. It would be splitting the difference between Sullivan and Louisville about 1hr 20min each. Loogootee and Paoli split it a little less evenly, adding/subtracting about 20min to the ratio one way or the other. Besides, they're both further from me so I'm biased against them anyhow :p.

Unless someone from either town were to chime in and suggest a local place to meet up..... :D

Sounds like you have a great tank whippy! I'd think 5G would be pretty challenging to maintain with so little water - I couldn't keep that tiny fish alive in 3x the volume for more than 3 days :-[. How bad would it have been with even less water??? I'm sure there is give and take with the smaller size though. About now I'm thinking it would be nice not to have any heavy or awkwardly large components. A lot easier to re-arrange or relocate should you ever want to move it or move yourself. I think my entire setup would weigh in just over 1000 lbs if you were to get 4+ people and try to lift the stand w/everything in place (which I know would be a terrible idea). Anyhow, nice to meet you and thanks for chiming in. I hope something works out!

Definitely and thank you! The 5g keeps me happy for now although I do need more space for all of the coral/livestock I'd like. 2 hours isn't bad at all! May have to make my way up :)

Hey guys I would like to see a few photo's of your 5 gal, and 75g set ups. Attach some of your tanks and equipment! Here's my 20g office tank, and 55g at home, with my 29g sump.

There are some pics on the last page of my Progress thread here: http://www.3reef.com/forums/show-off-your-fish-tanks/progress-60506-6.html

Tank isn't anywhere near pretty yet but it's getting there. All other pics in the thread are from my old 29g (I miss that tank so much :\) I'll get more pics as I can. These were taken with my phone but I'll try and get some with the Nikon.
