Well I thought I had hydroid jellyfish on my live rock but after doing more research I've came to believe that their actually aitapsia. Because I took a toothbrush I use to clean my tank with and lightly brush up against what in thought was hydroids but when I touch them they close up and have a tan/browinsh stalk and compltly close up. Soo my next question is what do I do about them? I spotted one large probably about a inch in diameter when fully open and several small ones which are smaller than a pencil in diameter when fully open.

I kinda figured that. What's the best way to kill them? It seems like when most people mess with them they end up making the problem even worse.

there are several methods. You can do a search in the forum to find ways to kill them.

I used lemon juice in a syringe. Turned off the flow. Injected a full syringe in each. Haven't seen any for two or three months.

I always search before I post. But when searching I read of a few different methods but I couldn't seem to find a solid method that everyone was happy with. There was lemon juice, boiling water, lasers, aiptasia x..but on all of them their were people who said it worked and others who said it didn't. I really don't want to go after this as of right now small problem and turn it into a nightmare as I have read if I go about it the wrong way they will multiply quickly. So I guess what I'm asking is one of those methods just a little better than the others?

Well it seems like I was wrong after doing more research I have come to believe that what I have are not aiptasia or hydroids but actually ball anemones or Pseudocorynactis.

Can you post a picture? Or several?
    That should help.

As far as the aiptasia, they're hard to kill and most people just try different things. I've tried injecting them (really injecting them with a syringe w/needle) with joe's Juice, lemon juice, vinegar. I've used aiptasia X, baking soda paste applied on them, peppermint shrimps, Nudibranchs. Last thing I tried again was aiptasia X. I was suspicious that I may have been using an expired bottle, so I got a new one and it looked like it was going to work!! Today I can see their stalks. No tentacles any more, but talks are starting to puff up again and they will come back.

Next, I will blast them with hydrogen peroxide, which should melt them away. If you do this, turn all your flow off. Try and keep your fish away from the area. I will often use a net since my ocelaris is a blood sucking little dummy that likes to "surprise me" with a love bite every time I'm messing with the tank. They are terrified of the net.

aiptasia x works. Key is to make sure you get it on them when they are opened and they will retract with the X on them and melt away. I generally cover the b@@tards. You must keep you eyes open and when ever you see 1 kill it, sometimes it does take multiple attempts(of course turn your pumps off while applying). Stay diligent as these things will pop up out of no where for quite a while. Even look in overflow areas.
