Last week my Cal was 390 so I started dosing more during the week. Today it's 350...what the heck? I've never had it drop that low, that quick.

Mag was 1290's, so I thought I'd add the proper amount of Mag. Now both are low.

    What just happened?

Thank is 75 gals, with a few LPS and 1 sps.

    Any suggestions?

What are you using for salt and how often are you changing water?

Also, what test kit are you using?

Reef crystals. I do a 4 gallon water change every weekend.

One thing I've learned is that if something doesn't look right, it rarely is. With low Mg, dosing Cal or Alk won't necessarily raise their levels. However, dosing Mg never fails to produce the desired results. I'd highly suggest getting a second opinion on your parameters rather than risking overdosing your tank. JM2C

As Mr Bill pointed out, double or triple check your test results. Depending on the size of your tank, the water changes alone should keep your perameters near normal. What test kits are you using?
