Hello all! I currently have a 125 gal. Running 3 halides and 8 t5's. I want to upgrade to program[IMG]mable LEDS. Any suggestions?

Boy, me too. I'm starting to think the primary discriminator is how much you want to spend.

125 Gallons seems like a pretty substantial system. Do you have a frag tank or anything like that? I ask, because I would look into building your own LED lights, lot's of people do it. If you have a smaller system that you could kind of play with, I would build a little LED light and "test the waters" per say.

I had a gen 2 radion over my 60 cube that was great. Completely programable. I recently set up a 180 and could not afford two additional Radions so i went with non programable LEDs (chinese). I have actually been happy with them so far, making them "programable" by putting them on timers,LOL. If I end up being unhappy with them Im only out a small amount of money.

If you want the same Metal Halide look in your tank I would definitely get a Kessil. I have a Kessil on my 24g and it looks amazing. The corals also love the light ive seen tremendous growth :)

Switch from MH to LED's isn't an easy task. If the acclimation isn't taken very slowly it can me difficult transition for coral. I went from (3) 400W MH to (3) AI Hyrda 52 HD+ and lost a large chuck of coral. The Monti in my avi is no longer. The lighting from LED's was so strong, bleach it within a couple days. My issue isn't that I acclimated to fast, it was I didn't know how high of a percentage to run the lights. Well I went too high. With that said, my tank is back on track and the coral are adjusting just fine.

I love the hydra series lights. Would def recommend.

Aquaillumination seems to be the best for programmable right out of the box, I just ordered a Hydra 26 HD for my tank. I'll let you know what I think once I get it up and running. I made the switch from MH and will never go back.

You really can't go off of ONE person's experience in this hobby.

Kessils are one of the best lights in the hobby in my opinion. (For just LEDs, doesn't come close to a good T5 system ;) )
