    Please post your lighting and approx distance from the fixture for those with bad memories.

    Clams will expand the mantle more and look to be reaching if the lighting is insufficient.

    4 bulb t5 fixture, 1 ati blue plus, 1 ati coral plus and 2 daylight 10,000. Aprox 3 inches from top of tank and 18 inches to the top of the sand bed

    Maxima, Derasa, Squamosa will be fine in the sand bed.

    If you get a Crocea, eventually move it up into the rock work, while acclimating to your tank and lighting it will also be fine in the sand bed.

    I would still get a flat surface for the Maxima and the Crocea to attach to.

    Ok, i just got my clam. it responded as soon as i saw it so im taking that as a good sign. Now i read somewhere that i should do a freshwater dip. Any suggestions?

    Rock?? This came from an old FW aquarium. Would it work for my clam to attach to? Or no? I'm about to go to town and look for something else

    FW Dips are very hard on clams I wouldn't dip it.

    Don't dip it put it in sand until you find what u want. Don't use the fresh water rock people dose stuff I'n fresh water that's bad for salt. And BTW let's see that clam!
