If it is, how are you keeping the heat down?

Luck, I guess. A/C set at 77 degrees, heater set at 79. Tank at 80-81 degrees. 80 at night, 81 during the day. No chiller, no fans, no metal halides.

Mine is doing pretty good. Seems my kenya tree is the first to let me know it's getting warm. I keep the curtains/blinds/windows closed in the day and open at night.I also keep a fan running. I'm glad I didn't spend a bunch of money on a chiller. Definitely thought I was going to need one.

i thought with my halides i would need a chiller but i guess being the basement helped no need for a chiller or fans just a small heater

Well it has been scorching hot outside, but my tank's temperature remains
around 76º to 78º steady, the a/c runs all the time which keeps the house around 70º to 74º the tank and sump both have no cover over the water surface, I also keep a higher than normal level in my sump and my light are T-5ho they come on around 3:30pm and go out close to midnight. a lot of people question why do I run my lights so late, my answer to that is, I like them to come on where I can enjoy the view when i am home.

i've said yes - but sometimes it still does get a little too hot and everything shrivels.
Also i can't seem to maintain a steady temp, but so far nothing seems to mind the fluctuation

    Fish are fine tho

My tank runs 78 at night and 79-80 during the heat of the day. My A/C is set at 76. My PCs are generating some heat and I have not installed fans to counter that. Summer has been kind to me and my livestock. Of course, the Pacific Northwest is not that bad.

I have no ac in my house here in denver which has been in the mid 90's. I had to make a plexiglass riser for the hood so my halide is a bit higher over the water and i have put a fan in it. Top offs every day and it goes from 77 at night to 80 during the day window always open as it is always shaded.

Even though our tank is still relatively new, our tank is doing well, our temperature is usually around 75-78 degrees. I guess it helps that the weather here has been around 65 during the day and 55 at night! (I'm still not used to this Alaska weather, it would be in the upper 80's or even the 90's back at home in Hawaii!)
