    I got this for free today when I picked up some purple death palys. Don't know too much about them, just wondering if this one is in good shape. Thanks.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Hard to tell where it is placed in the tank, but I would start it pretty darn low and let it acclimate.

    Doesn't look to bad. Just make sure the flow is strong in that area. Give a couple of weeks to start coloring up.

    Well I moved it down to about mid tank, med to high flow in the area. Thanks corailline I didn't think about that. My clown made me pay the price too, she hung on for a moment.

    Give it some time to acclimate and you will probably see the tissue expand more. Someone gave me a frag of the same type monti, it is half way down now and is growing about 1/2 inch a month now, they grow fast once they start.
