Is My Whisker Shrimp Pregnant?

    Today I saw what seemed to be eggs in my Whisker Shrimp. Ok, now I wouldn't be as shocked if the other two shrimp I had didn't die. Shrimp can't breed with crays right?... Though I've had the one for a month or two.

    My two peppermints both got preggers, so I don't see why your whisker can't got it solo.....:)

    I assume that's an Amano Shrimp. They can hold eggs but they can not actually spawn in captivity. With other Shrimp such as Cherries that's a different Story.

    No It's not an amano shrimp. Amano shrimp are (Caridina multidentata) and whisker shrimp are (Macrobrachium SP.) If you want a visual difference whisker shrimp are bigger and have longer arms.

    I have never even heard of whisker shrimp till now. Do you plan on getting another one to keep that one company ?
