    to a fellow hoosier,,
    i had red slime for a while in one of my tanks, i was told that sun light helps it thrive, i started to keep my blinds shut in that room and lowered my light cycle for a while, it seemed to help a lil

    Well my light cycle is 7.5 hours and the room the tank is in always has its blinds shut...

    i know it can be a pain, i fought it for a realy long time before it was gone.

    Ya it has been like this for like 6 months now...was on and off for the first year and i thought it was done...but then i came back in full force and will not go away!

    ya it is not fun, i would do a water change and then in the old water i would take some of my rock out that had a lot on them and clean them a little before i would pour out the old water
