    By the way, thanks Cheryl.:) I'm going to hold off on the blackout until next week though. I'll be adding a fish to my tank tomorow so i probably don't want to shock it with a blackout. Plus I want to give my skimmer some more time to do its duty. It's already lowered my nitrates by 7ppm in a week!

    Sounds like a plan man. I know algae is painful to look at but it happens. :)

    Puurty much! I'll see how it does after the blackout. With my nitrates on the decline, it should somewhat take care of itself.

    Most of the brown cyano is gone and has been replaced with a bit of red slime. All of the brown algae is off the sand, overall much better:)
