Does anyone know what the chemical equation for the reaction of NaCL and H2O? Is salt an acid or base? Neutral?

There is no chemical reaction since the salt merely dissolves in the water. You can take the water out & still have the salt. No new compound is formed. Once the salt is added to the water, the resultant solution is basic since the pH is greater than 7.

If you can separate them doesn't that just mean the reaction is reversible? <->

Absolutely the equation is reversable. The water evaporates and you are left with salt crystals.

Mixing salt with water creates a solution not a reaction. The definition of a reaction is combining two or more different chemicals and creating a third substance.
