Flat worms

Hi, I need your help. I don't buy form that LFS but this time I did and already regret it. They have a pretty good sale going on. @ frags for 10$. Later on the check out I found out why. Guy told me to make sure to fresh water dip them before I put them in my tank... because they have Flat worms in that tank. Id rather get rid of them then risk to infest my 125 reef tank. Is there 100% solution to get rid of Flat worms? I have those frags still in bags. Fresh water dip, I also have Coral Disinfectant by Sachem and Lugol solution. Please let me know. Thanks.

 

What types of corals are they?

I have used FW dips for FW in the past successfully.

Personally though I would use the Coral Disinfectant.

Without out knowing the coral or Flat worm types it's hard to answer. Some corals do not do well in fresh water dips. Some Flatworms are more invasive than others, dips do not kill eggs.

Make sure you soak as long as directed on the Coral Disinfectant bottle, and swirl the corals around in the solution to knock off Flat worms.

Personally I would take the frags back and get a credit or money back. Some types of Flat worms can be a real nightmare.

 

it is Zoa frag and Clove polyps frag.

 

Well, for one, the dreaded AEFW wont feed on those so throw that out.. BUT, I dip all incoming corals in Bayer advanced. 1 or 2 ML per cup of tank water. Nasties fall right off. blow them with a baster or swish pretty good. then dip them in clean tank water and then on to our frag rack.
