You sound bitter. Perhaps it was your tone that got that other thread closed. Take this offline or move on.

The show does seem to be getting better, and the more I watch it, the more I see little snippets of good info packed in there. Every episode there's even more bad things to go with the good though. I talked to Brett briefly at MACNA, and I definitely hope his promises are true. No matter what happens, everyone needs to stop putting it on ATM. When it comes down to it, they signed a binding contract with Discovery Channel, and they probably have little say over how it gets edited. They're along for the ride with us, but hopefully they can give direct constructive criticism to the editors for us.

I'm not at all bitter Matt. Its the mods choice to close threads, and I have no problem with them doing so. I was simply stating that this thread isn't offering anything valuable to the members. I also had some people agree. And I actually agree with your statement about helping with fish and corals. Look at how many views and replies this thread has got, meanwhile there are tons of threads where people have asked questions that are left unanswered. I myself am guilty of overlooking threads, and I agree that time on the forum can be better spent. Probably more productive than simply arguing over a tv show. But that's just my 2 cents.

I was over it before it started. Good source of conversation though.

I have had people come into the store due to the show. Some of the people were turned off when they found out the cost of a saltwater aquarium. However, others really didn't care about the price. It's going to take a little extra work to educate them properly. However, this is something that I do each and every weekend anyway. In fact, it's my job to educate my customers/potential customers.

The show was meant to get people interested in the hobby and that is exactly what it did. Bashing this show on a forum meant for educating people on the care of fish tanks has no purpose and is not needed. This thread has no benefit. Do you think this thread has helped anyone in any way? Maybe if someone was misguided by the show and you corrected them with the proper information, then I would understand, but that is not it at all. I am not a mod, but I just wanted to give my $.02

Funny thing is that the guys from Tanked have read ours and other forum comments about the show. this is why they are out there speaking with hobbyists and industry insiders at trade shows like MACNA, Reef-A-Palooza, MAX, ect.... They want to make the show better. So the bottom line is this thread did not fall upon deaf ears.

As for the other thread. It did fall upon deaf ears as no one has seen or heard from them since their statement was released.
