Cyano, coraline or both??

    i have what I think is definately cyano, maroon color, next to possibly more cyano or is it the start of coraline algae, bright purple/pink?

    take a toothbrush and try to remove it - if is coraline will not come out. If is cyano will come easily.

    good advice ^^^ I would say the red is cyano and the lime green is the beginning of coralline. Doing the above will let you know for sure

    Yeah, thanks guys. I completed the WC tonight and with this being my first tank, I realize that I have some things to learn. I tried fairly hard to scrub the maroon and red algae off, with good effort not much budged. There is definitely coraline in here starting. Nice bright, dense purple algae with defined edges. No question some of it is coraline and likely more of it than I realize seeing how hard I tried without removing much.
