Clam foot dismantled

    Hello all,
    I recently noticed my clam foot dismantled, do u know what does it mean. I took of the foot still attached to the rock , the clam looks ok but still now the clam is footless

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    The clam probably just lost the byssal thread mass not the actual foot.

    What Cheryl said...however, if you check the clam's byssal organ (which is large in T. crocea), it should not look like a hole in the clam.

    It almost looks to me as if the clam's valves (shell halves) are separating. Has the clam been pulled of the rock somehow?

    It was all a natural process the calm leg just started to pull off and dissembled as u can see in pic 1 , till the clam fell from the rock to the sand

    Yes when i wave my arm above it is responsive
