this may sound like a really stupid question... but what exactly makes zoanthids so special? i know a lot of them are absolutely gorgeous, but how would you care for one? same as any other coral (good lighting, good water, good trace elements, etc.) or do you have to manually feed them, like the sun coral? i've noticed in all the picures, almost all zoa's have a mouth at the center of it... or they look like mouths anyway.. i'm just wondering because i'd like to have some, but if they require special care, then i'm definately not ready for them...

    hmm.....

"The lighting requirements of Zoanthids vary from species to species, but as a whole they are less demanding than other corals available to the aquarium trade."
(taken from wikipedia; Zoanthid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

its just weird, because according to this, they are easier to care for then most other corals, but most of the people on 3reef that have zoa's seem to have a good amount of experience with corals, but the average joe "1 month experience, know-it-all" won't even mention them... well thats a bad way to word it, but it just seems that zoas are NOT beginner corals for some reason... "beginner" corals are polyps, mushrooms, leathers, etc.. explanation please?
