    4 tanks 18 x 12 x 15
    [IMG]
one end and back painted blue
    [IMG]

tanks set with 12 inch as the viewing face - this way a 1.2 m 6 x 54 watt T5 canopy can illuminate them all

flow - will start of with the 100 gph small Resun wavemakers in each tank
but can upgrade to the double sized Boyu models or even combine both

Bubble Magus NAC QQ - internal protien skimmers rated for up to 25 gallons so in these 13 gallon set ups they are going to me more than ideal for purpose

    starting lamps
    2 x 10k ,2 x 20k and 2 x plant lamps

tanks undergoing 24 hour leak testing now

they will be filled with tapwater
and I will be ensuring they get cyno, GHA and all the other typical isssues
    before skimmers are installed

this shows you how set up will be when completed

skimmer back left corner and wave maker back right aiming forward

once I have the cyno and GHA etc - I will cross contaminate in order to get all 4 tanks to similar conditions

Tank 1 - extreme left - that will have GFO added using a Aquaexcell reactor and Atman pump - it will be manually cleaned, water changes , syphon etc - Old school

Tank 2 - Will use Brightwells bio fuel - a commercial carbon source

Tank 3 - Will use Vodka 40% proof - and dosed according to the general plan as written by Genetics and Stony corals in Vodka distilled

Tank 4 - Will use an Aqua Excell reactor / Atman pump combo with BP bio pellets

my aim is to see if either 1 of the carbon dosing techniques will
be better at reducing the Nitrate and Phosphate I am going to deliberately encourage
and will any be better at dealing with the resulting problem algaes and bacteria etc

    Thank you Crimson Ghost
yes those are my 9 and 3 year old wannabe rocker sons Alan and Ray

Thank m2434 - its a genuine head to head to head to head
Im interested personally, I do want to know if either is more or less effective at what they are supposed to be capable of doing

there will be no higher life forms involved in this 1st run
just bacteria and the nuisance algaes etc
but it will be interesting to monitor both the numbers and the aesthetics

    Thank you schackmel

    Thanks Magnus

    Thanks Pickupman66

tank 1 is my control - in that it wont be carbon dosed, it will just run using traditional methods GFO - increased flow and water changes

EcoBak - to be honest I would have loved to have tried that, but the only pellet we have here thus far is the BP version

but if they show up - Ill still have the 4 set ups and hopefully 1 day may be able to do a head to head on 2 or more pellet products
