Couldnt find any specific pond forums but....
I was doing a water change in my pond (its about 3000 gallons). I found this bug in the water. No clue what it is and it was under the water so not just a bug that landed in the water. Anybody know what it is? Good or bad?

Not sure of the exact species, but it appears to be some type of beetle larvae. Many terrestrial critters have an aquatic larval stage. AFAIK, most are harmless, feeding mainly on algae, detritus, and micro-organisms.

This very closely resembles a dragonfly larvae stage (if not exacly it). Trout love to eat them so I would say they are ok. Definety some kind of flying insect larvae. Search maybe fly fishing bugs

Thanks for the help guys. I did throw it back and he was eaten right as he hit the water.. I have some big fish. lol Have about 20+ babies that were just born this season.

I always do water changes in my pond. Water changes remove bad stuff and add fresh water.

If you add the right kind of plants and keep them protected from your Koi wc's are not necessary.Just something to consider.:)
