Has anyone received an email yet? I just stumbled across an update on their site. Here's a link for details http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/security-update
I know things happen but what kind of upsets me is that it has been 4 weeks since it happened and the only way I have found about it was by accident. Glad I only use paypal when purchasing online

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I use paypal as well, have ordered from BRS twice in the last couple weeks.

I will continue to use BRS. It's a sign of the times unfortunately. Even the biggest corporations have been hacked recently.

I agree they should have notified you sooner.

It's unfortunate but wouldn't let it discourage you. Cyber security is very hard and expensive.

Sad to say that cyber attacks are a common thing, but you're right it is getting to be a normal occurrence. I'm not discouraged I only use paypal or a credit card for this very reason. I'll continue to do business with brs too. It just frustrates me that it has taken so long for any notification.

" While we are continuing to investigate this incident, we do know that some customer data for customers who logged into the website from July 30, 2014 until January 30, 2015 may have been compromised. This incident involved the name, address, telephone number, email address/user name, password and credit card information of some customers."

Agreed. Whenever there is a data breach, especially one involving customers' personal information, customers should be notified immediately.

I work in the fraud department for a retail bank and unfortunately see this everyday. I don't know anything about the BRS breach but I do know the companies sometimes don't find out there is a problem until some time after the fact. It is showing a broad range of dates which means they don't know a whole lot yet.

Corailline is right, It is a sign of the times.

I received an email a few days ago and a letter in the mail yesterday about this, it should not have taken so long to get the word out but it does happen.
