There is this brown algae growing on the base or foot of my leather finger coral, it looks as If it may be causing it some harm. What can I do to help it?

Very common for Leathers. Take a turkey baster and gently blow it off. Also make sure it is getting a good ammount of flow to help it shed. As long as it is not decaying it should be fine.
