has anyone have experience with these? I was thinking about getting one for a desktop tank for sexy shrimp, pom pom crabs and maybe a really small pair or fish with a few corals and 1 or 2 mini maxis.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
You'll definitely need an ATO, and to run LEDs to manage temp and evaporation. A small HOB for filtration should be fine.

Sexy Shrimp are awesome, they will at times become opportunistic eaters, so choose easy corals like Xenia, Sinularia, any of the Colt type of corals.

+1 an ATO will probably be the best investment for that tank.

Does the nanocube come with a "back section" like biocubes or jbjs? If so a HOB probably won't be necessary, but if not I'd run one.
